IES FUENTESAÚCO
Spanish Cultural Heritage video
Report from the mobility in Spain
Participants had the opportunity to experience cultural heritage of Spain, focusing on Zamora, in Castilla-León. They learned about Spanish culture and food and were able to try different well-known “tapas” and Mediterranean cuisine during the whole mobility. They acquired knowledge of videomaking and filming: how to frame, zoom, set cameras diaphragm, white balance, etc. They improved their skills in recording with video-cameras and mobile phones and learned some concepts of filming: camera, angles and movement shots.
Day 1
At school participants attended the Opening ceremony and took part in a workshop about movie recording using video-cameras, improving their skills in this field. They were given instructions about the creation of a promotional video of our cultural heritage and at the end of the mobility they participated in a video contest.
Day 2
In the morning they participated in a CLIL lesson on filming, planning and storytelling. They analyzed promotional videos on natural or cultural heritage of different countries in order to realize what catches the audience’s eyes. In the afternoon participants visited the town of Zamora, its cathedral and other landmarks. The tour was guided by the Spanish participants and allows the students and teachers to get to know more about the Romanesque churches and other important sites.
Day 3
On Wednesday they went a one-day trip to “Arribes del Duero” Natural Park, an area of great geological interest as the river marks the natural border between Spain and Portugal. Students in small group were taking photos and videos in order to create the final video.
Day 4
Participants attended CLIL lesson on basic concepts of a video editor software. Spanish students taught some basic concepts of video editing and then everyone had to practice by editing their own video. They realized about the importance of having a good idea and create a storyboard or script before recording. Participants learned about local folklore, with a folk band performing traditional dancing and music.
Day 5
The last day they went on a tour around the gorgeous historical old town of Salamanca, a UNESCO heritage site. Participants attended a Farewell ceremony where they were given their certificates. The products created for the video contest were presented and the prize was awarded to the winner. A kahoot game played in small group tested acquired competences of students. LTT evaluation carried out and there was a coordinating meeting.
